Earth Day (Rhetoric)...

Word of caution to the (in)frequent visitors of this blog, my world revolves around a few brand names from the time I get up until I retire for the day. Some of these may include NPR, BBC radio. I catch news on the way in and out of work. Some of this news leave hard impression on me and make me digest them thru the day and finally make me spill in bits and bytes (get it?). Some of the material may sound like a repeat in this effort but definitely not intentional. I call it plagiarism in style.

Anyway, Happy Earth Day. Like many things that earn one day significance in the year, we must also remember about the Earth once in a year. We can go on abusing it every day but remember it's a special day and we must give it a break! We do call her Mother Earth but we don't seem to treat our mothers the same way, heck to that matters not even the step mothers.

I am sure Earth has a plan to revive itself? The signals are many, A Series Of Unfortunate Events around the world. These are the signals for revival or warning signs? I think I will not bring up the Iceland Volcano eruption and the chaos it created for the European air industry, nooooo... it's overdone in the news already.

What I do offer is a thought (it's for free), every living species on earth demand a perfect living condition. We can't tolerate: too hot weather, too cold weather, drought, heavy rains, floods, no wind, too much wind (twisters), I guess you get the picture. When we have the perfect conditions we forget how we got all that for free. Well, we think it's for free as we are intelligent to take things for granted.

If you asked me a decade ago about what I thought of those people who were running around with the Save The Earth bags, demand paper bags for groceries, reusable water cans and plastic coffee mugs, I would have said, Huh bunch of fads!!  What an irony right?

I don't want to further humor with any help of anti-clichés but we are forgetting the delicate balance we must maintain with the nature everyday but thank god for Earth Day we can think about all this once in a year!!

Who got the Green Gift recently?
